All the articles we read we very interesting and
surprisingly helpful. Each one had a
specific piece of advice. I enjoyed the “Hard
Work or Smart Work” article the best. It
was very entertaining and offered great advice. Also, it made the task seem able
to conquer. “You have way more in you
than you can imagine,” this quote from the article is very motivating and I will
look back to it when I am ready to quit.
Another interesting article was “What is College for?” I like this one
because it was easy to relate to. I remember
discussing and even contemplating those same topics. Going to college was always the plan. I never really thought about not going, but I
did wonder if it would truly be useful. This
article more than settles my suspicions.
It stated, “College education is
above all a matter of opening themselves up to new dimensions of knowledge and
understanding.” The actual learn and knowledge you take form class is only half
the experience. The student center, the
clubs, the “semi-professional athletics” and living on campus is how you gain
the full “understanding”. You can only
learn so much in class. Although, the “How
to Become a Deep Thinker” article offers some good advice on how to get as much
as you can from classroom learning. All you have to do is leave a lot of time
do get your work done in a timely manner.
I have to emphasize the amount of time you must leave clear…It’s a lot. It will most defiantly get in the way of good
social experience. Keep in
mind college has so many levels that you have to take what you can out of
it. That’s what I take from the advice
from all the articles combined. Take
what you can out of your college experience.
